Lyrics / Video of Song : Tamanna Lut Gai, Na Milta Gam To Barbadi Ke Afsane Kaha Jate

ho, tamannaa lut ga_i phir bhi tere dam se mohabbat hai
mubaarak gair ko khushiyaan mujhe, gam se mohabbat hai

na milataa gam to barabaadi ke afasaane kahaan jaate
agar duniyaa chaman hoti, to viraane kahaan jaate

chalo achchhaa huaa apano me koi gair to nikalaa
ji, koi gair to nikalaa
agar hote sabhi apane, to begaane kahaan jaate

du_aae do mohabbat hamane mitakar tumako sikhalaadi
mohabbat tumako sikhalaadi
na jalate shamaa me to parvaane kahaan jaate

tumhi ne gam ki daulat di badaa ahasaan farmaayaa,
badaa ahasaan farmaayaa
zamaane bhar ke aage haath phailaane kahaan jaate

"Mubarak ghair ko khushiyan, mujhe gham se muhabbat hai... na milta gham to barbadi ke afsane kahan jate... agar duniyan chaman hoti to virane kahan jate." This sad song is not just a lament on a cruel fate ; it's Sufi poetry at its most profound. Lataji's voice and Nimmi's acting both seem to come from deep within their hearts. Can they leave any listener unmoved to tears? A splendid post from a great film filled with moving lyrics and soul-stirring melodies. Thanks, Suhanee.

..Another heartrending line in this exquisite Shakeel Badayuni poem is: Chalo achha hua apno mein koyi ghair to nikla , agar hote sabhi apne to begane kahan jate.Such acceptance of human vulnerability, such resignation to fate, accompanied by forgiveness extended to one's own tormentors, only comes from a deep grasp of how all dualities, all good and bad, are inextricably intertwined in our lives.

So true.r the lyrics of this song.Lata ji's very beautifull emotional song on Nimmi ji.who expressed so well ''Dard'' by Her acting prowess.5*****thanks Suhanee ji for uploading this gem.

Notice the extraordinary range of emotions that Nimmi beautifully expressed in three songs, the deeply touching feelings of suffering, injustice, abandonment and grief in this song and Khamosh Hai Khewat and joy in Ek Baat Kahoon. Of course, Lata and Asha were there to help her out on the musical level. Thanks for all the Amar posts, Ramchandraji.

...and the similar expressions in yet another... jo bijli chamakti hai unke mahal par, wo kar le tasalli mera ghar jala kar....salamat rahe tu meri jaan jaaye.....

Thanks for the rich comments. The emotions have great impact. I have not seen the movie, but now referred to the details regarding its plot; and, was moved very much. All in all the movie is superb thanks to all those who contributed for its success including Mehboob Khan - Producer. Regards.

The romance of b/w lives, this song is Amar, as the the film is, like its name. Nimmi, if I am right in her prime, the master piece close ups, the back ground composition, even the slow blowing wind seems to match up so perfectly with the sitar chords and the mode of the song. hai sab se madhur woh geet jinhein hum dard ke sur mein gate hein. To balance all this blacks, Dilip is providing his dazzling whites, which in fact don't relate to his role in this movie. The inner conflict (cond)
